Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To achieve the strong fixing with a bone and to prevent the creep deformation of polyethylene by mounting a ceramic material to the polyethylene material forming the slide surface of a tibia member on the contact side with the tibia and surrounding said polyethylene material by a metal frame. CONSTITUTION:A slide member 2 forming a joint surface 2a is composed of ultrahigh MW polyethylene (H. D. P) and a peg 3 made of alumina ceramic is vertically implanted in the almost central part of the slide member 2 on the side of the tibia and an alumina ceramic plate 4 is mounted to the under surface of said slide member. Ceramic beads or a porous body P such as a ceramic porous body composed of alumina or apatite are bonded to the surfaces of the peg 3 and the alumina ceramic plate 4, and formed into a porous state having a mean pore size of 250mum sufficiently large to permit the hyperplasia penetration of a bone. Further, the slide member 2 composed of H. D. P is molded so that the outer periphery and required place thereof are surrounded by a frame 5 made of a titanium alloy having a frame shape to be unified with said frame 5. By this method, a knee joint can be stably kept for a long period of time.
