EXTERNAL PREPARATION COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain an antiphlogistic analgesic for external use having excellent percutaneous absorption by blending diclofenac or a salt thereof with a gel base prepared by neutralizing a gelatinizing agent with a neutralizing agent selected from ammonia and an alkylamine and further menthol. CONSTITUTION:An antiphlogistic analgesic for external use containing diclofenac or a salt thereof (e.g., Na salt or alkylamin salt) and a gel base prepared by neutralizing a gelatinizing agent (preferably carboxylvinyl polymer) with a neutralizing agent selected from ammonia and an alkylamine. Percutaneous absorption is improved by using the neutralizing agent and further the antiphlogistic analgesic for external use may be mixed with menthol as a percutaneous absorption promoter. The amount of the neutralizing agent may be an amount to adjust the preparation to pH5.5-8 and is generally 0.1-15wt.% based on the preparation. The preparation has excellent feeling in use such as spreadability, extension, feeling in greasiness, etc.
