CONSTITUTION:The melt of an iron-based alloy having a specified composition is quenched by the single roll method, etc., and solidified to obtain a thin band iron-based amorphous alloy. An aq. processing soln. consisting essentially of colloidal hydrated alumina is applied on the surface of the band alloy, and then baked to obtain an alumina insulating film-coated thin band iron-based amorphous alloy.
