A driving device (A) for reciprocating a shaft (3) along an axial direction thereof, comprises a reciprocating shaft drum (2) for slidably supporting the reciprocating shaft (3) along the axial direction thereof, a guide groove drum (8) rotated relativetothe reciprocating shaft drum (2) and having an annular guide groove (9) with an intersection (10) on the circumferential surface thereof, and a driven member (5) fixed to the reciprocating shaft (3) and engaged with the guide groove (9). The driven member (5) includes a cam follower (15) and a boat-shaped member (16) rotatable about a shaft (17) extending from the driven member (5)-to the guide groove (9), the boat-shaped member (16) has a cam roller (24) rotatable about another shaft (25) extending from the driven member (5) to the guide groove (9), and the guide groove (9) has a cam follower guide path (11) engaged with the cam follower (15), a cam roller guide path (12) engaged with the cam roller (24) and a boat-shaped member guide path (13) engaged with the boat-shaped member (16) at the intersection (10) thereof. When the guide groove drum (8) is rotated relative to the reciprocating shaft drum (2), the shaft (3) is reciprocated by engagement of the driven member (5) and the guide groove (9).
