PURPOSE:To press a contact type image sensor to a reading roller by uniform pressure extending over the whole length of a contacting part by making the contact type image sensor rockable in an optional direction around the fulcrum at its rough center and at a distance from a reading position, and pressing it by a spring. CONSTITUTION:The contact type image sensor 14 is held by being pressed at a fulcrum point 20 of the center of its lower part to a fulcrum receiver 22 so as to make the fulcrum pins 24 at the both ends of its upper part engage with the grooves 26 of side plates 25, and is pressed to the reading roller 13 by the spring force P of a leaf spring 27. At that time, since the contact type image sensor 14 is freely rockable aroung the fulcrum B at the center of the lower part in the directions of arrow marks C and D, it is pressed to the reading roller 13 by the uniform pressure extending over a longitudinal direction. Besides, the reading position of the contact type image sensor at that time is regulated at a correct position by engagement between the fulcrum pins 24 and the grooves 26. Thus, the contact type image sensor 14 can be pressed to the reading roller 13 by the uniform pressure.
