Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To recover the subject compound by selectively reacting, removing and purifying isobutylene in a 4C hydrocarbon mixture in the presence of a catalyst obtained by subjecting activated or acid clay to calcining treatment at a specific temperature in air at a specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:Isobutylene in a 4C hydrocarbon mixture containing the isobutylene and 1-butene and/or 2-butene is selectively oligomerized, removed and purified in the presence of a catalyst obtained by subjecting activated or acid clay at 200-600 deg.C, preferably 400-500 deg.C temperature in air for 1-10hr, preferably 3-5hr at 50-150 deg.C, preferably 70-100 deg.C temperature under 5-40kg/cm pressure to suppress oligomerization of the 1-butene or isomerization thereof to 2-butene and recover the 1-butene and/or 2-butene useful as a comonomer for high-density polyethylene or low-pressure process low-density polyethylene in a high concentration.
