PURPOSE:To prevent an optical fiber from being damaged and folded and also to attain accurate reading by providing the other side of a read head block with a light emitting element and a photodetector corresponding to plural optical fibers to unify the device. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting photometry fiber sheet 22 and a photodetection photometry fiber sheet 23 are heald respectively with the 1st holders 40, 42 and the 2nd holders 41, 43 in a form of sheet, the reading edge is arranged to the front side of a central block 21 and the photodetecting end is arranged to the rear side with exposure. A light irradiated from the reading end of the light emitting photometry fiber 22 is reflected in the front face of the central block 21 at a prescribed angle of nearly 60 deg. to a face of an original 11a parted at the prescribed interval l, then the reflected light is made incident to the photodetector photometric fiber 23. The photodetectors are arranged at a prescribed pitch on the rear side of the photodetector photometry fiber 23 and the elements receive the reflected light and convert it into an electric signal.
