DRIVING MECHANISM FOR TRUCK

PURPOSE:To enable a truck to be stopped in a work region with a structure simplified by the action of a release plate on a turning unit and turning it from a connected position to a released position so as to release a connecting member from its connection to a drive transmitting member, when a truck is moved to the work region. CONSTITUTION:When a truck 2 is moved running along an assembly line, a turning unit 44, mounted to a truck main unit 6, is positioned in a connecting position, and by engaging an engaging pawl 34, provided in a drive chain 24 moving in a guide means 4, with a connecting pin 68, provided in the turning unit through an arm 50 or the like, both the chain 24 and the truck 2 are connected, thus the truck 2 is moved by running the drive chain 24. When this truck 2 reaches a work region, a roll 90, provided in the turning unit 44, is connected to an upper surface of a release plate 164, being moved to the upper along a tilt guide part of the release plate 164. In this way, the turning unit 44 is turned about a shaft 56, reaching a release position, and the truck 2 is stopped in the work region by disengaging the connecting pin 68 from the engaging pawl 34.
