Date Feb. 3, 1983.An anaerobic adhesive composition comprises a polymer having a polymerizable side chain and a molecular weight of at least 500, an organic acid having a vinyl or methacryl group and polymerizable with said polymer, a polymerization catalyst, and preferably, a vinyl monomer. The composition is used for bonding various adherends such as metals, plastics, FRP, glass, etc. and provides improved bond strength, water resistance, heat resistance, and fatigue resistance.
