Color and shape: yellow crystal; molecular equation:C19H14O5; mass spectrum (FD-MS): m/z 322 (M); melting point: 184-185 deg.C; specific rotation: [alpha] =-110 deg. (C=0.2, CHCl3-CH3OH=1:1); solubility: soluble in chloroform, ethyl acetate, acetone and methanol, insoluble in water; a week acidic substance, etc. USE:An antibiotic active to treponeme and mycoplasma. PREPARATION:A strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces such as Streptomyces.SP.SF2609(FERM P-10128) is cultured preferably by a deep culturing method at approximately 28 deg.C for 2-7 days.
