DISPLAY AND ELECTRONIC FILING DEVICE CONTAINING SAME

PURPOSE:To quickly change the aspect ratio of a display screen to a desired value with no intervention of an operator by using a means which rotates automatically a display device according to the change of the aspect ratio of the picture data shown on a display screen or an external command. CONSTITUTION:When a command is received from an operator for rotation of a display part 112, a main control part 1 gives a start instruction S to a display rotation control part 9. Thus the part 9 drives a motor 115c via a driver circuit 10. Then the part 1 decides the rotational direction of the part 112 based on the rotational position information received from the rotational position detecting switches 117 and 118. Then the part 1 gives a rotational direction command to the circuit 10 to start the drive of the motor 115c and turns a display screen 111 by 90 deg.. The part 112 is automatically rotated in an automatic rotation mode so as to secure an optimum aspect ratio.
