Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce the pulsation of a thrust as well as the commutation loss by arranging a plurality of magnetic poles having different polarities alternately along the lengthwise direction of the row of electromagnetic coils as the magnets of the side of a movable piece. CONSTITUTION:When a commutated current is conducted through the row 36 of electromagnetic coils, thrusts are generated by the effect of electromagnetic inductance due to a current conducted upwardly or downwardly through the vertical side of a rectangular coil 31 and the flux of magnets 38 in accordance with the Fleming's left hand law whereby trucks 43 or a vehicle 30 is moved forward. Wheels 40 are rolled on rails 39 at first, then, both left and right sides levitation systems 31, 33 generate a levitating force as the speed of the vehicle is increased whereby the vehicle 30 becomes to effect levitating running. The left and right guidance of the truck 43 is effected by magnetic attraction type guidance systems 34, 35 arranged at both sides of the base of the row 36 of the electromagnetic coils. According to this method, a thrust, same as the thrust so far, may be obtained even if the total length of the magnet parts of the truck 43 is shortened.
