COMPOSITE STRUCTURAL MEMBER AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To manufacture the subject composite member free from brittle breakage by covering the outer peripheral surface of a metal pipe by a fiber- reinforced covering member which is prepared by solidifying the continuous fiber by the water-hardened type inorganic powder material and charging the inside of the metal pipe with concrete. CONSTITUTION:The inside of a cylindrical steel pipe 2 is charged with concrete 3, which is solidified, and further, a CFRC layer 4 is formed by coagulating the fiber-reinforced cement which is formed by solidifying the continuous carbon fibres by the hydrated water-hardened fine powder bodies, onto the outer peripheral surface of the steel core 2. Further, the FRC layer 4 made of the not-yet- hardened fiber-reinforced covering material is worked into tape or sheet form, and after applied onto the steel pipe 2 several times, said FRC layer 4 is hardened. Therefore, since the outer peripheral surface of the metal pipe is not exposed outside, a structure member having the superior corrosion resistance can be prepared.
