COLOR INK FILM

PURPOSE:To effectively put the high gradation properties of sublimable ink to practical use and to increase a recording speed by using sublimable inks with respect to three colors of yellow, magenta and cyan and using heat- meltable ink with respect to black. CONSTITUTION:A color ink film 1 is formed by applying inks of three colors of yellow Y, magenta M and cyan C and ink of black B to a base film in surface sequence and sublimable inks are used in the regions of three colors of yellow Y, magenta M and cyan C while heat-meltable ink is used in the region of black B. Each of the sublimable inks is liquid or flowable one prepared by dispersing or dissolving a sublimable dye such as an anthraquinone dye or an azo dye evaporated when heated to certain temp. in water or an org. solvent such as ethyl alcohol along with a binder such as ethyl cellulose and the heat-meltable ink is solid one constituted of a colorant such as pigment or a dye, a binder composed of wax or a thermoplastic resin and various additives such as a softener, a dispersant or the like and melted by heating.
