PRODUCTION OF POLYMERIZED POLYOL COMPOSITION AND FOAM

PURPOSE:To obtain a foam having excellent temperature characteristic at a low temperature by polymerizing an ethylenic unsaturated monomer in a specific polyol mixture to obtain a polymer polyol composition and reacting the composition with an organic isocyanate, a foam stabilizer, a catalyst, a foaming agent, etc. CONSTITUTION:A polymer polyol composition having excellent dispersibility and stability is produced by polymerizing an ethylenic unsaturated monomer in a polyol mixture composed of preferably 5 to 30wt.% of a high polymer polyol having a hydroxyl value of 20 to 70 (preferably 20 to 50), preferably 20 to 40wt.% of a low molecular polyol having a hydroxyl value of 300 to 1,000 (preferably 350 to 950) and preferably 30 to 75wt.% of a polyester polyol having a hydroxyl value of 150 to 500 (preferably 200 to 400). The obtained polymer polyol composition is made to react, singly or together with a polyol for a general rigid grade, with an organic polyisocyanate, a foam stabilizer, a catalyst, a foaming agent and, as necessary, a crosslinking agent and an assistant to obtain a foam suitable as a partition material for a cold storage.
