RECORDING MATERIAL SUITABLE FOR USE IN ELECTRO PHOTOGRAPHY

PURPOSE: To obtain a recording material by forming a single photoconductive recording layer contg. a specified 1,2-dihydroquinoline compd. on an electrically conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION: A single photoconductive recording layer contg. at least one kind of 1,2-dihydroquinoline compd. represented by formula I or II is formed on an electrically conductive substrate. In the formulae I, II, R is H, an aryl, etc., R is an aralkyl, an aryl, etc., R is a 1-4C alkyl, an aralkyl, etc., (n) is 0, 1 or 2, L is a chemical bond or a divalent combining group represented by formula III, Q is an alkylene, a substd. alkylene, etc., and (p) is an integer of at least 2. In the formula III, each of X and Y is NR , CHR , etc., Z is O, S, etc., and each of (k), (l) and (m) is 1 or 0. The 1,2-dihydroquinoline compd. is especially useful to produce a recording material.
