Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prepare coated paper having excellent luster, smoothness and gloss by coating an aqueous coating composition consisting mainly of a specific pigment and an adhesive on raw paper, drying the coated paper and passing the dried paper through a heated calendar to finish the surface of the paper. CONSTITUTION:Raw paper is coated with an aqueous coating composition consisting mainly of pigments containing 5-30 pts.wt. of satin white having an average particle size of 0.1-0.8mu. The dried coated paper is passed through a heated calendar comprising an elastic roll and a metal roll having a surface roughness: Rmax of the equation (T is the surface temperature of the metal roll when operated; p is the linear pressure of the calender) and heated at 100 deg.C, thereby finishing the surface of the coated paper to provide the objective coated paper having excellent printability.
