TIP AND NOZZLE FOR GAS WELDING

PURPOSE:To greatly prolong the life to allow continuous use by forming electroless plating layer respectively contg. lead and zirconium and lead and beryllium on the surface of a tip body made of a copper alloy and the surface of a nozzle body made of copper. CONSTITUTION:The entire surface including the inside surface of the central hole 2 of the tip body 1 is pretreated by using a pretreating liquid essentially consisting of sulfuric acid. The tip body is then immersed into an electroless plating liquid essentially consisting of the zirconium acetate and lead acetate to form the electroless plating layer 3 contg. the lead and the zirconium. The nozzle body 4 is pretreated in the same manner as for the above-mentioned tip body 1 and is thereafter immersed into an electroless plating liquid essentially consisting of the beryllium hydroxide and lead acetate to form the electroless plating layer 5 contg. the lead and the beryllium. The tip and nozzle for the above-mentioned gas welding are substantially free from the deposition of spatters generated at the time of the welding and maintains the long service life. The wiring lock occurring in the deposition of the spatters and other trouble are prevented.
