METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THICKNESS IN COLD CONTINUOUS ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To improve the coiling property in a coiler and to improve the passing property in the following stage by rolling the neighborhood of the cutting point of a strip to the thickness larger than an indicated value. CONSTITUTION:In the preceding material 20 of a rolled coil, the target plate thickness is set at a value larger than an indicated value at point A ahead by a prescribed length (1a) of point B. Consequently, the preceding material 20 and the succeeding material 21 are rolled to a thickness larger than a value indicated near the cutting point B. At point C obtained by rolling the succeeding material 21 by a prescribed length (1b), the sheet thickness is set to the thickness of a product of the succeeding material 21. Accordingly, when the strip is rolled slightly thickly before and behind the cutting position, the preceding material 20 of the coil increases in thickness and rigidity, and the coiling property in a coiler is improved and the passing property in the following stage is improved.
