ANTICONVULSANT

PURPOSE:To obtain an anticonvulsant agent useful for oral and parenteral administration, having extremely excellent anticonvulsant action, containing (-) epigallocatechin as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An anticonvulsant agent containing a tannin compound having eliminating action on active oxygen free radical in natural plants, especially (-) epigallocatechin, a constituent component of tea tannin, as an active ingredient. When the anticonvulsant agent is administered to human, the anticonvulsant agent is pharmaceutically manufactured with a carrier auxiliary, etc., into oral drug such as tablet, pill or capsule or parenteral drug such as injection and used. A dose is properly about 20-200mg usually in the case of oral administration and about 10-100mg in the case of parenteral administration. (-) Epigallocatechin as an active ingredient is synthesized according to chemical and pharmaceutical bulletin.
