METHOD FOR JOINING CERAMIC TO METAL

PURPOSE:To prevent warpage by providing stud bolts at the prescribed intervals on the rear of a joint base material made of metal and bonding a restrained plate on this rear and performing high-frequency induction heating from the ceramics side and brazing ceramics pieces on the joint base material. CONSTITUTION:In the figures I to II, bolts 2 are welded at the prescribed intervals on the rear of a joint base material 1 made of metal. A restrained plate 3 for preventing warpage is fixed on the rear of the joint base material 1 by the bolts 2 and nuts 4. Then the ceramics pieces 5 with a square of about 20mm such as metallized SiC are locally brazed on the surface of the joint base material 1 by high-frequency induction heating. Further as a second method for fixing the restrained plate 3, in a figure III, the restrained plate 3 is allowed to abutted on the rear of the joint base material 1 and fixed to the outer circumferential part thereof at the prescribed intervals by spot welding 6. As a third method for fixing the restrained plate 3, in a figure IV, the restrained plate 3 is fixed by both a bolt 2 fixed to the central part of the rear of the joint base material 1 and a nut 4 and thereafter the outer circumferential part is fixed at the prescribed intervals by spot welding 6.
