Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To obtain a synthetic bristle material suitable for inserting into a toothbrush by melt extruding a synthetic resin, stretching each of the extruded plastic fibers and subsequently mechanically roughening the surface of each stretched endless fiber strand. CONSTITUTION: A synthetic resin, preferably polyamides or polyesters is extruded from a die 1 and each of the extruded plastic fibers 2 is passed through a water bath 3, cooled and then stretched with a group of rollers 4. Each stretched endless fiber strand is subsequently passed through a sand blast apparatus 5 to roughen the surface thereof.
