POLYVALENT ANTI-INFLAMMATORY AGENT

PURPOSE:To provide a multi-functional anti-inflammatory agent having not only an anti-inflammatory activity but also a renal disease-treating activity, an anti-allergic activity and/or an anti-ulcer activity, containing 2',3,4,4'- tetrahydrochalcone as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A low toxic multi-functional anti-inflammatory agent contains a 2',3,4,4'-tetrahydrochalcone of the formula or a medically acceptable salt thereof such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium and/or ammonium salts thereof as an essential component and, if necessary, one or more non-toxic additives selected from recipient, binder, disintegrator, antiseptic agent, isotonic agent, stabilizer, dispersing agent, anti-oxidizing agent, coloring agent, flavor and buffering agent, the anti-inflammatory agent having not only an anti- inflammatory activity but also more excellent renal disease-treating activity, anti-allergic activity and anti-ulcer activity than that of isoliquiritigenin.
