Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of abnormal wear on the internal surfaces of instruments for passing through B4C in a thermal spraying apparatus by using powdered B4C as raw material after mixing specific amounts of fine and soft BN with the above powdered B4C at the time of plasma-spraying super hard B4C onto the surface of a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A super hard substance, B4C, is thermally sprayed on the surface of a substrate 7 by means of an Ar plasma flame 1, etc., to form a B4C sprayed deposit 8. At this time, since B4C has extremely high hardness and angular shape, respective internal surfaces of a B4C supply hose 5 connecting a hopper 2 in which B4C 3 is placed and a powder port 4, a connecting pipe 6, and the powder port 4 are remarkably worn owing to B4C. In order to prevent the above wear, a soft hexagonal BN powder 10 of =3000 deg.C by the plasma flame 1, and the sprayed deposit 8 of the super hard B4C can be easily obtained.
