PROCESSING PERFORMANCE VARIABLE TYPE PRINTER

PURPOSE:To obtain a printer which is convenient for use by making installment of a panel switch corresponding to a ROM cartridge to a body useless by a method wherein a necessary and enough panel switch is arranged to a program stored on a memory means of the ROM cartridge. CONSTITUTION:A containment part 2 containing a ROM cartridge 5 is provided to a printer body 1, and a connector 3a for connecting a signal wire of the ROM cartridge 5 is established in the containment part. Further, a display 4 for displaying setting or the like with an on line/off line and a panel switch of a printer is installed on a front of the printer body 1. A ROM storing a specific program, a peripheral circuit connecting the ROM to a signal wire of the printer body, and a peripheral circuit of the panel switch 6 are stored in the ROM cartridge body 5. Further, the panel switch 6 is arranged to the front of the body 5, and a connector 3b for being connected to the signal wire of the printer body is installed to a rear.
