FLOPPY DISK DRIVER

PURPOSE:To prevent a READ error and a WRITE error from occurring by providing a counter circuit, a comparator, and a head loading instruction circuit in a driver, and loading a head on a floppy disk medium in rotation by outputting an instruction to a head loading instruction circuit at every coincidence of the count value of the counter circuit with the preset value of a setting register. CONSTITUTION:A certain fixed value is set at the setting register 13, and the fixed value is always compared with the count value of the counter circuit 11 by the comparator 12. When coincidence is obtained as a result of comparison, the instruction is outputted to the head loading instruction circuit 15, and the loading instruction of the head is outputted to a head part 16 when no instruction from a command acceptance circuit 14 is issued, and also, a reset signal is outputted to the counter circuit 11. In such a way, the head is loaded on the medium by the head part 16 at every coincidence of the count value of the counter circuit 11 with the preset value of the register 13, and the counter circuit 11 is reset, then, counting is started again. Thereby, it is possible to prevent dust, etc., from remaining as being attached on the head, which prevents the READ error and the WRITE error from occurring.
