Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the subject solvent, having a low mixed aniline point and excellent in solubility at a low production cost by subjecting a specific petroleum fraction to reforming reaction, distilling, separating and recovering a specific fraction from the resultant produced oil. CONSTITUTION:A petroleum fraction (preferred example; a kerosene fraction or a distilled and separated raffinate obtained after recovering n-paraffins therefrom) containing at least 50vol.% components having the boiling point within the range of 185-215 deg.C is subjected to reforming reaction and a fraction having the boiling point within the range of 205-245 deg.C is distilled, separated and recovered to afford the objective solvent having
