Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To obtain much freedom in an outer wall range and an inner wall range of an artificial limb with a hollow shaft by forming two half shells which are adjacent to each other within a range of two seam lines extending in a longitudinal direction by a press-processing or a forge-processing and welding within a range of a seam line. CONSTITUTION: Two different half shells 1 and 2 which are fitted in their forms to each other to make a hollow shaft after being connected, are press-processed or forge processed. As a material, titanium-aluminum-vanadium forge alloy is advantageously used. In this case, after forming a wall piercing hole 3 and/or a recess 4, these half shells 1, 2 are trimmed and become smooth. Then, both half shells 1, 2 are connected by an electron beam welding so that thermally effective band regions formed on both sides of welding seams 9, 10 become eminently narrower than the case of a TIG welding. Labor or an after treatment for making the welding seams 9, 10 smooth is reduced in the case of the electron beam welding.
