Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To remove heat from a containing structure by making a fluid pooled in a supplementary pool partition flow down through a plurality of channels and return through an object contained in a pressure suppression pool chamber to the supplementary pool partition. CONSTITUTION: Energy is transmitted to the surface to be exposed of a duct 34 so that the water in the duct 34 is heated up and evaporated through temperature rise in a pressure suppression pool chamber 26 and natural convection of heated water and/or steam is started so that the heated water and/or steam moves upward in the duct 34 and enters a main pipe 40. The heated water and/or steam passes from the main pipe 40 through a duct 44 and enters a supplementary pool partition 30 where thermal energy is discharged and dissipated through evaporation. In place of the upward movement of heated water in the duct 34, cooling water flows down from the other side of a baffle 46 in supplementary pool partition 30 and passes through a main pipe 38 and a duct 32 thus cooling the wall of supplementary pool partition and a containing structure 20.
