Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve absorption of energy for a fender, etc. mounted on a quaywall by forming a device group whose projection or hole to be provided is discontinuously varied, out of an elastic body such as a foaming or non- foaming rubber. CONSTITUTION:A fender mounted on a quaywall is formed by providing projections on a basic part of tetrapod-like solid shape, or of the shape of ball or egg, or by providing holes of different diameters according to the distribution of stress, or by providing a device group whose thickness is discontinuously varied in step. The device group is made out of a foaming or non-foaming rubber or urethane. Shock is thus mitigated, and energy absorption can be improved.
