Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To readily obtain para-aramid pulp by preparing a solution which is actively polymerized to form para-aramid, subjecting the solution to orienting flow, making the solution to gel, cutting the gel in slit-like state and subjecting the cut material to finishing treatment. CONSTITUTION: A para-aromatic diacid halide is stoichiometrically brought into contact with a para-aromatic diamine while stirring in an anhydrous amide solvent system to prepare a solution in which a para-aramid polymer is actively formed. Then, when intrinsic viscosity of the para-aramid becomes about 1-4, the solution is subjected to orienting flow to form optically anisotropic liquid solution and the solution is incubated while warming in this state until it gels. The resultant gel is cut and subjected to finishing treatment.
