Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To rationalize the layout of an engine room and miniaturize the engine room by the volume having been occupied by an air cleaner in the engine room by storing an element for the air cleaner in a storage room inside a bumper. CONSTITUTION:An element 2 for an air cleaner is stored inside a storage room 1a of a box-shaped bumper 1 to form the air cleaner for an automobile. The element 2 is formed with a pipe-shaped core section 22 with many vent holes 21a penetrated on a wall section, a filter section 22 provided on the outer periphery of the core section 21 and fold-machined with a band-shaped filter material, and a cover section 23 provided on the outer periphery of the core section 21 and closing the inside. On the other hand, the bumper 1 is formed with a lengthy bumper main body 10 with a U-shaped cross section and a side plate 4 closing its one opening section. The storage room 1a of the bumper 1 is divided into a resonance room 11a and a cleaner room 11b by a partition wall 11.
