MEASURING METHOD FOR CLEANING FORCE OF CLOTH OR THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To quantitatively measure cleaning force of cloth by wiping off a soiled substance adhering to a plate to be cleaned with cloth of a substance to be inspected, and thereafter, measuring a light reflection characteristic or a light transmission of the plate to be cleaned. CONSTITUTION:Test cloth 1 attached to a friction body 2 of a cleaning test machine is pressed 3 against a plate to be cleaned 6 fixed to a moving base by prescribed pressure, the plate 6 and the cloth 1 are brought to friction by moving the base 8, and after wiping off contamination of the plate 6, the plate is set to a measuring instrument for a light reflection characteristic, and by allowing the plate 6 to reflect a light beam 12 emitted from a light source 11, the light reflection characteristic is detected 15. In this regard, when that of a transparent type is used for the plate 6, a light transmission measuring instrument is used. Subsequently, a solution or an oily soiled substance is applied uniformly to the surface of the plate 6, the application quantity is checked by the measuring instrument, and thereafter, the plate 6 is installed in the test machine again, the soiled substance with the cloth 1, and a reflection characteristic value or a transmission characteristic value of a light beam of the plate 6 is measured by the measuring instrument. By deriving an average value and a standard deviation value by repeating such an operation several times, cleaning force of the cloth 1 can be measured with high accuracy and quantitatively.
