Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To surely adjust a biter position with a simple structure by making a microscope having an optional axis in the vertical direction and a tool stand in specified positional relation in the horizontal direction and adjusting the vertical position by focusing a knife edge image and the horizontal position by aligning the position of the knife edge image. CONSTITUTION:The height of a knife edge is made coincident with the shaft center height of a main shaft 13 by executing a trial cutting with adjusting the upper and lower parts of a bite T by a knob 33, a notch in X direction is given by a movable carriage 11, advanced and retreated in Y direction by a tool stand 20 and a work W is finished in specified thickness. The tool stand 20 is then moved to a position A and the movable carriage 11 to the position B where the optical axis of a microscope 40 coincides with the knife edge, the contour of the knife edge image is focused by a knob 47, the carriage 11 and tool stand 20 are slowly moved and a reference position is made by conforming the knife edge image to the intersection of the sight line of the visual field of the microscope 40. At the bite T changing time the carriage ..11 and tool stand 20 are moved to the reference position, the knife edge image contour is focused by vertically moving the bite T together with a bite support base 25 by the knob 33, the reference position is changed by conforming the tip to the intersection of the sight line and the work W can be worked in specified thickness by working the work W based on the value thereof.
