Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain an improver for dysmnesia, containing a specific amide compound or acid addition salt thereof as an active ingredient and having excellent acetylcholine esterase inhibitory action. CONSTITUTION:An improver containing a compound expressed by the formula [R1 to R3 are H, alkyl, alkoxy, OH, halogen, NO2, CN, (alkyl-substituted) amino, (alkyl-substituted) sulfamoyl or both together represent methylenedioxy; R4 and R5 are alkyl, cycloalkyl or both together, along with N, represent 1- pyrrolidinyl, 1-piperidinyl, 1-piperazinyl or 1-morpholinyl] or acid addition salt thereof, e.g. N-[4-[2-(dimethylamino)ethoxy]benzyl]-2-ethoxybenzamide hydrochloride, as an active ingredient. The above-mentioned pharmaceutical is extremely useful as an improver for dysmnesia accompanied by Alzheimer type senile dementia or other dementias and the dose thereof for an adult is normally 10-100mg per day.
