Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a polyarylene sulfide resin composition of a high whiteness by mixing a polyarylene sulfide resin with hypophosphorous acid or its alkali (alkaline earth) metal salt. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. polyarylene sulfide resin is mixed with 0.03-5 pts.wt. at least one member selected from among hypophosphorous acid, an alkali metal hypophosphite and an alkaline earth metal hypophosphite. As the polyarylene sulfide resin, a polyphenylene sulfide resin is desirable. In this way, a polyarylene sulfide resin composition which can meet a Hunter's whiteness >=40% can be obtained.
