Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To enable delivery of a large amount of cytotoxic substance to tumor cell by administering antibody-enzyme conjugate in combination with a prodrug that is converted to a parent medicine by the enzyme. CONSTITUTION: An antibody-enzyme conjugate comprising an antibody reactive with an antigen on the surface of tumor cells and an enzyme which converts a prodrug, that is weakly cytotoxic to tumor cells compared to its corresponding parent medicine is administered in combination with the prodrug. The enzyme includes an alkaline phosphatase, penicillin V amidase or cytosine deaminase and the parent medicine includes etoposide, mitomycin or 5-fluorouracil and the prodrug include phosphates or sulfates. The antibody of the conjugate is bound to the antigen of the tumor cells and oxygen concentration at tumor site is enhanced and the prodrug is converted to the parent medicine by action of the enzyme to exhibit strong cytotoxic effect.
