OPTICAL FIBER SWITCH

PURPOSE:To accurately and easily align the axis of optical fibers by forming reference surfaces where ferrules are positioned. CONSTITUTION:A 1st reference surface 4 where one flank 3b of a fixed ferrule 1b and one flank 3a of a moving ferrule 1a are pressed and positioned and a 2nd reference surface 5 where one flank 3a of the moving ferrule 1a and the opposite flank 3b are pressed and positioned are provided as internal surfaces of a box body 2. Then when optical fibers A and C are coupled optically, the moving ferrule 1a is pressed left by a right-side driving body 6b to press one flank 3a of the ferrule 1a against the 1st reference surface 4 and when optical fibers B and C are coupled optically, the moving ferrule 1a is pressed right by a left-side driving body 6a to press the other flank 3b of the moving ferrule 1a against the 2nd reference surface 5. Consequently, the axes of the optical fibers are securely and easily aligned.
