PICTURE PROCESSOR

PURPOSE:To decrease the capacity of a main memory and to reduce the cost by storing a picture data in a main memory in a form of a run length data and applying a picture drawing processing to the run length data. CONSTITUTION:A data of a monochroic picture formed by a contour line is fetched by a layout scanner 500, the picture data is fetched in a computer 100 in a form of a run length data and stored in a main memory 110. The picture data in the memory 110 is converted into a raster data in a data form conversion section 115, transferred to a frame memory 120 and displayed on a display device 400. A command of a picture processing from the operator is given to a picture drawn area input section 130 and a color input section 140. Then a line data readout section 160 reads a data by one line from the memory 110, processed by a data update section 150 and the resulting data after the update is written in the line position to be read in the memory 110 via a line data write section 170.
