OPTICAL INFORMATION REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To use an optical information reproducing device even in a device driven with a rotating motor by attaching moving elements of linear motors to the outside of first and second engaging parts through coupling members and controlling them. CONSTITUTION:First and second engaging parts 53 and 54 engaged with two guide shafts 31 and 32 are formed on both sides of an optical head 34 as one body, and linear motors 35 and 36 are arranged near first and second engaging parts 53 and 54. Moving elements of linear motors 35 and 36 are attached to the outside of first and second engaging parts 53 and 54 through coupling members and are controlled. When a current flows to coils 49 and 51 arranged in magnetic gaps, thrust is generated in coils 49 and 51, and they are moved along two guide shafts 31 and 32 provided across a recording medium 33. Thus, this device can be used even in a device driven with a rotating motor.
