FUEL CELL

PURPOSE:To remove phosphoric acid in an exhaust gas with a simple means to prevent corrosion and deterioration of pipelines and units by attaching a phosphoric acid removing unit in which metallic wool is filled between a unit cell stack and a manifold. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas containing high temperature phosphoric acid exhausted from a unit cell stack 3 is sent into a phosphoric acid removing unit 10 attached on gas outlet side of the stack 3. The exhaust gas is in contact with metallic wool made of such as iron, copper, and aluminium, and phosphoric acid in the exhaust gas reacts instantaneously with the wool because of high temperature, and converted into phosphate, then the phosphate is accumulated on the wool. After phosphoric acid was removed, the exhaust gas is exhausted outside from an outlet pipeline 6 through a manifold 4. Phosphoric acid in the exhaust gas is removed with a simple means, and pipelines and units are prevented from corrosion and deterioration.
