Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To measure hypoglycolipid complex having sialic acid selectively by adding a monovalent to trivalent water soluble metal salt other than alkaline metal by such quantity as the ion concentration of final metal in a solvent mixture liquid obtained by removing neutral lipid from a serum diluted with water corresponds 0.005-0.1mol/l and producing precipitation at pH1.5-8.0. CONSTITUTION: pH is selected depending on the metal ion of a specific water soluble metal salt being added as a precipitant to the water phase of solvent mixture liquid and serum from which neutral lipid is removed. Lipoprotein fraction containing sialic acid is then precipitated and the fraction is dissolved again before the content and quality of sialic acid in solution or glycolipid having siliac acid is measured using a known method. According to the method, glycolipid complex can be measured selectively in a blood including human blood and a decision can be made whether the content of siliac acid has increased due to progress of tumor or not in significantly early stage as compared to a method employing phosphotungstic acid as precipitant.
