TEST METHOD FOR ENGINE DURABILITY

PURPOSE:To test a durability of an engine accurately and quickly by performing a motoring operation for the engine with a driving motor and supplying an intake air pressurized with an air compressor during the operation. CONSTITUTION:When the durability test for the engine 1 is performed, the engine 1 is driven by means of driving the driving motor 16 and transmitting the rotational force to an output shaft 14 through a belt 19. The pressurized air is supplied from an intake manifold 3 of the engine 1 to the engine 1 through a pneumatic circuit 12 by driving the air compressor 8. This pressurized air supplied from the engine 1 is exhausted from an exhaust manifold 5 and guided to the manifold 3 after cooled by an intercooler 6. The air pressurized to a specified pressure can be supplied to the engine 1 during the motoring operation of the engine 1 accordingly. The number of revolution for the engine 1 can be optionally set by changing the number of revolution for the motor 16, and the intake pressure can be optionally set by changing the number of revolution for the compressor 8.
