Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a light-weight superconductor cable an oxide superconductor of which is not likely to produce cracks by combining a conductive macromolecular material with the oxide superconductor. CONSTITUTION:A superconductor cable is made with a core 1 of oxide superconductor surrounded with a conductive macromolecular material layer 2. The oxide conductor for the core 1 is processed into fibers or wires and the conductive macromolecular layer is formed around the core 1. At first, the oxide superconductor fiber or wire for the core 1 is made by a process such as melting method, sol-gel method, or gaseous phase method and, if necessary, further by annealing. A sheath to be the conductive macromolecular layer 2 is formed outside the oxide superconductor. Thus, a superconductor cable is obtained which is light-weight, and of a construction unlikely to produce cracks and breakages resulting from minute defects in the oxide superconductor.
