FLEXIBLE DISK DEVICE WITH HEAD PROTECTION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent collision between 1st and 2nd head sliders even when shock is exerted to the flexible disk device while being carried or in transportation by providing a stopper preventing excess opening of an arm opposite to a free end of an arm having the 2nd head slider. CONSTITUTION:A stopper 14a for preventing excess opening is provided opposite to a free end of an arm 5. When a shock larger than the elastic force of a compression spring 7 pressing the arm 5 is exerted to the device in a direction opposite to the energizing direction of the compression spring 7 at the carrying or transportation in which 1st and 2nd head sliders 2,3 are parted, the 1st head slider 2 and the 2nd head slider 3 are being opened in the parted direction regardless of the energizing of the compression spring 7 to the arm 5. However, the excess opening of the arm 5 is restricted by the stopper 14a. Thus, the collision of the 2nd head slider 3 onto the 1st head slider 2 is avoided.
