Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts by pivotally mounting a camshaft at a journal portion formed at a joint face between a cylinder head and a head cover and arranging a cam pulley inside the axial direction of the journal portion. CONSTITUTION:Journal portions 13a, 13b are formed in a right circular contour by the end face of a cylinder block 2 united with a cylinder head and the end face of a cylinder cover 12 jointed therewith which fill up each other, and both ends of a camshaft 14 are held thereby. In addition, pulleys 15, 16 and a belt 17 for interlocking the camshaft 14 and a crankshaft 5 are accomodated in a belt chamber B formed below the cylinder block 2. The camshaft 14 is thereby held by fitting the head cover 12 to the cylinder block 2 and the belt/ pulley device is embedded in an engine body 1. Consequently, it becomes possible to reduce the number of parts and the man-day for assembly.
