SEMICONDUCTOR LASER DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain suitable polarization ratio and optical intensity in reproducing information by processing to reduce permeability in a light emitting window glass. CONSTITUTION:A process 12 for reducing permeability is performed in a light emitting window glass 1 of a package for placing a semiconductor laser chip 2. Here, since an output A necessary to obtain a necessary polarization ratio and an output B necessary to obtain a suitable light intensity have a relation of A>B, the same state as that oscillated with an apparent output B is realized as the light intensity to be emitted to an optical information recording medium by oscillating a semiconductor laser at the output A or more. Thus, the polarization ratio necessary to reproduce the information and suitable light intensity can be realized.
