USE:An intermediate for liquid crystal, pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, etc. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a monohalogenobenzene (e.g. chlorobenzene) with 3-cyclohexenecarboxylic acid ester at a molar ratio of (1-10):1 in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst (e.g. anhydrous AlCl3) at -10-+10 deg.C under normal or positive pressure optionally in an inert solvent (e.g. methylene chloride).
