Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (X is -CF2CF2 or -CCl2-; Y is H, nitrile or ethynyl; R is Cl or ethoxy; R is lower alkoxy, lower alkenyloxy or methylsulfonyloxy, etc.; R is H or forms lower alkylenedioxy together with adjacent R , with a proviso of excepting 3,4-methylenedioxy). EXAMPLE:2-propargyl oxybenzyl 1-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-2,2,3,3- tetrafluorocyclobutane-1-carboxylate. USE:Insecticide. Exhibits extremely low toxicity for fish and able to be used in a wide range. PREPARATION:An acid expressed by formula II is reacted with thionyl chloride, etc., to obtain acid chloride expressed by formula III and reacted with alcohol expressed by formula IV at 0-100 deg.C in the presence of deacidifying agent (e.g. pyridyl group) and in a solvent such as toluene to afford the compound expressed by formula I.
