APPARATUS FOR FEEDING OR DISCHARGING ROLL MATERIAL

PURPOSE: To reduce the stop time for changing a guide element by arranging a support member of the guide element, and connecting, or fixing the position of an additional support beam in a changeable manner with or in an attachable/ detachable manner to/from the support beam to be connected by a pair of columns. CONSTITUTION: Support members 7, 8 of guide elements 3a, 3b are arranged on respective independent additional support beams 9, 10, and the additional support beams can be changed with support beams 16, 17 to be connected to a pair of columns 1b, 1c. Before the guide elements are connected to a rolling mill stand 1 together with the additional support beams, the guide elements can be fitted to the additional support beams at a fitting part specially provided for the guide elements outside a rolling passage. The additional support beams which are already on the rolling mill stand, can be changed with the additional support beams provided with the positionally regulated guide element. For example, such a change of the rolling program takes only a short time, and the fitting is easy.
